Wall Street rallies with the Dow Jones closing at all time high

The US stocks market closed higher on Tuesday on the back of upbeat European data and overall risk appetite. Wall Street is back to pre-crisis levels and the Dow closed above 14,200 for the first time.

The Dow Jones advanced 125.95 points or 0.89% to close at all-time high at 14,253.77. The S&P 500 added 14.59 points or 0.96% to finish the day at 1,539.79. The Nasdaq Composite gained 42.10 points or 1.32% to 3,224.13.

The market reaction is changing, says Kit Juckes, head of currency strategists at Societe Generale, who argues that despite "the Dow may made a new all-time high, and asset prices from housing to wine to art to the FTSE will all be dragged higher in the US equity market’s wake, fewer and fewer other markets are following suit and that is as clear a sign as any that the whole hyper-correlated easy-money fuelled move is running out of steam."

Forex Flash: NZD/USD to trade with a positive tone - BNZ

Absent a disappointing Aussie GDP figure, according to Mike Jones, currency strategist at Bank of New Zealand, "we suspect the NZD/USD will continue to trade with a positive bias today." The analyst thinks that any pull-back towards the 200 day moving average at 0.8300 should find buying interest, ahead of 0.8280. Initial resistance eyed at 0.8350.
